Talk About Thievery

Published by stephanieebarr at 3:18 pm under Everything Else Edit This

Click to get a larger pictureAlright, today I really did it.  Usually, my Thursday thievery involves stealing my own comments from someone else’s blog.  But, today, I really stealing someone else’s brilliance to populate my blog, though I had her permission.  What am I stealing?  Well, the beauty of one daughter and the talent of another.  See, as some of you know, the photography gene, like the plant growing gene, has thoroughly passed me by.  I take a picture of my baby and she’s either a blurr turning the other way or just enough out of focus to make my pictures unusable.  I quick look at my photo gallery on my website , you’ll see that most of them are due to my uber-photographically talented Aunt Sue.  My father was also a gifted photographer.

 Me, I stink.

But my daughter doesn’t.  She’d asked for a camera for Christmas and repays me in beautiful pictures of Roxy I can’t seem to take myself.  I thought I’d post a few for you so you can see how blessed I really am in daughters.

And how about a round of applause for our beautiful model.  And, to prove that Alex is no less photogenic:

Great work! What a darling angel of a little girl!

At least you can now count on someone to capture those darling family moments! And I LOVE that you’re not good at something! I was really starting to wonder! ;-)

I love the black and white. There is just something about black & white that is somehow so much more emotional. Maybe poignant is a better word. Anyway, I usually end up converting the pics I take that make it to the wall gallery into black and white or sepia.

Awww! You know those photos are adorable. Your children are definitely photogenic. Aunt Sue is going to have to share her secret because I can’t for the life of me get good pictures of Dasha anymore. She just won’t sit still. I hit the button and she’s already on the other side of the room, so I get her foot on film OR the back of her bald head. I’ve given up. Her toddler years will look like a blur on film. :(

You’ve got gorgeous kids, there’s no doubt about it! But that’s not surprising, given that their parents are also so photogenic. :-(
